FSU Falls In Second Round of ITA Kickoff

AUSTIN, Texas – The Florida State women's tennis team (2-1) fell 4-0 against No. 10 Texas (2-1) in the second round of the ITA Kickoff at the Texas Tennis Center.
The Longhorns entered singles with a 1-0 lead after winning at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles. Laura Putz and Millie Bissett kept their match close before the doubles point was secured.
Senior Anna Arkadianou responded by winning her first set 6-2 over 20th-ranked Tonya Sasnouskaya, and Bissett won her first set 7-5.
Florida State continued to fight throughout the day, but fell short as the Longhorns won at No. 6, No. 4, and No. 3 singles to secure the 4-0 victory.
Despite the loss, the Seminoles battled hard and were ahead in three of the six second sets before the match concluded.
The Seminoles returns to action next Saturday against No. 8 Florida at the USTA National Campus in Orlando. Live stats and video will be available on Seminoles.com.
