FSU Hosts Pair Of Top-15 Ranked Opponents

TALLAHASSEE – The Florida State women's tennis team hosts pair of top-15 ranked opponents as they face No. 8 North Carolina on Friday and No. 14 Duke on Sunday.
The 33rd-ranked Florida State is 4-3 on the season and has a 3-1 record at home this spring.
The nation's 52nd-ranked singles player Vic Allen is coming off a clutch 7-6 (2) doubles win against Tennessee with Anna Arkadianou at No.1 doubles. Allen also earned a 7-5, 6-2 win at No. 2 singles against Elza Tomase of Tennessee and is currently on a three-game win streak in singles.
Senior Ellie Schoppe is ranked No. 55 in singles and No. 38 in doubles with freshman Maelie Monfils. The pair is on a three-game win streak and recently defeated the 53rd-ranked Esther Adesina and Alana Wolfberg of Tennessee 7-5 to help the Seminoles secure the doubles point.
Sophomore Millie Bissett is coming off an impressive 7-6 (5), 2-6, 6-1 victory over No. 83 Catherine Aulia of Tennessee. Bissett has accumulated three singles and doubles wins this spring.
North Carolina, the defending national champions, is 7-2 on the season. Tar heels boast eight individuals and four pairs in the national ITA rankings.
Duke comes into this weekend with a 6-2 record and are led by sophomore Katie Codd. Codd is ranked No. 76 in the nation and is one of four individuals ranked in singles for the Blue Devils.
Friday's match begin at 4:00 p.m. and Sunday's at 12:00 p.m. at the Scott Speicher Tennis Center. Admission is free. Live stats and video will be available on Seminoles.com.
