Florida State Falls to No. 8 UNC

TALLAHASSEE– The Florida State women's tennis team (4-4, 0-1 ACC) fell 5-2 against No. 8 UNC (8-2, 1-2 ACC) at the Scott Speicher Tennis Center on Friday.
The Tar Heels entered singles with a 1-0 lead after winning at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles. The Seminoles were tied 5-5 at No. 3 singles before the doubles point was clinched.
North Carolina clinched the match with wins at No. 1, No. 4, and No. 6 singles.
Ellie Schoppe and Kristyna Lavickova fought hard to capture three-set victories. Schoppe defeated the No. 14 Caron Tanguilig 4-6, 6-3, 6-1 at No. 2 singles. Schoppe now has four singles wins on the season. Sophomore Kristyna Lavickova also won 6-1, 5-7, 6-1 at No. 5 singles.
Florida State returns to action Sunday against No. 14 Duke at the Scott Speicher Tennis Center. Live stats and video will be available on Seminoles.com.
