No. 10 Softball Looks to Stay Hot Against North Florida on Tuesday

TALLAHASSEE - The No. 10 Florida State softball team (28-4, 6-0) looks to continue its hot streak on Tuesday night as it faces North Florida (26-10, 1-5) at JoAnne Graf Field on Tuesday night at 6 p.m. on ACCNX. Shawn Davison (Play by Play) and Brandon Reichert (Color) will be on the call.Â
The Seminoles have been red hot as FSU has won 17-consecutive games, eight which have come via run rule. FSU is 6-0 in the ACC and stands in solo first place in the conference. FSU is coming off a series sweep against Cal where it dominated the Golden Bears in a sweep. FSU outscored Cal 30-3 and run ruled Cal in all three matchups. It was the first time since March 24-25 that FSU had run ruled an ACC opponent in each game of the series. The Noles were led by Shelby McKenzie who was phenomenal as the sophomore hit .857 and had two home runs and seven RBI. Isa Torres had another great weekend as the junior hit .600 with three RBI. Torres broke the NCAA record for consecutive hits on Friday night as Torres recorded a hit in 16-consecutive at-bats. Torres leads the country with a .642 batting average and is second in the country with a .695 on-base percentage.Â
North Florida enters Tuesday's matchup with a 26-10 but are just 1-5 in ASUN. The Ospreys reached its first-ever NCAA Regional final last year with a 47-15 record. The Ospreys are led by Bella Ciminio and Caiden Olivia who have combined for 60 RBI and are both hitting over .315. In the circle, Cameron Ponich leads the way with a 1.59 ERA in 74.2 innings. Ponich holds a 11-4 record this season.Â
