SERIES HISTORY VS. STETSON
Florida State is 71-26 all-time vs. Stetson, including 45-11 at home and 26-15 on the road. The series began in 1949 with a win and a loss in both DeLand and Tallahassee. FSU owns the longest win streak between the two teams, a 15-game stretch from 2013-2018. The Seminoles have won three in a row and eight of the last 11 after a 6-3 win two weeks ago on the road.

On March 31, 2026, FSU began a four-game roadtrip with a 6-3 win at Stetson in DeLand, Florida. The Seminoles used back-to-back two-run innings, in the sixth and seventh, to down the Hatters. Sophomore right fielder Noah Sheffield hit his third home run of the season, a two-run shot in the sixth inning that gave Florida State the lead for good. Junior right-hander Brodie Purcell earned the win to improve to 2-0 on the season. In 2.0 no-hit innings, he struck out four and walked two. Senior right-hander Gabe Nard pitched a perfect ninth inning, with two strikeouts, and earned his second career save, both coming in the last three games. A recap and box score can be found here.

SCOUTING THE HATTERS
Stetson comes to Tallahassee with a 14-21 record overall, 11-12 at home and 3-9 on the road. The Hatters are 5-9 in ASUN play, having lost four of their five weekend series. SU is coming off a 13-3, eight-inning victory over Queens on Sunday after losing the first two games, 2-0 and 8-2. The team did not play a midweek game last week due to weather, and suffered a series loss at Jacksonville from April 2-4, several days after the 6-3 home defeat to Florida State on March 31. Stetson has lost seven of its last nine games.

LAST TIME OUT: ROAD DEFEAT AT NO. 3 GEORGIA TECH
Florida State suffered three defeats at No. 3 Georgia Tech from April 9-11 in Atlanta. It was FSU's first series loss of the season in a top-five matchup between the top two teams in the ACC standings entering the weekend. As the Yellow Jackets extended their win streak to 11 in a row, the Seminoles held them to 14 total runs in the first 22 innings after they came into the series averaging nearly 12 runs per game. The Florida State offense hit six home runs in the series, including two by freshman right fielder John Stuetzer.

In the opener on Thursday night, FSU's comeback bid came up just short in a 4-3 loss. The four runs was tied for GT's third-lowest total on the season. Florida State took a 3-0 lead in the second inning before Georgia Tech answered with one run in the bottom of the second and took the lead with three in the sixth. The Seminoles put two on in the ninth with the tying run on third base, but a double play ended the game.

The following night, Florida State lost 8-3. Stuetzer homered twice and led the Seminoles with a career-high-tying three hits, two RBI and two runs scored. Junior left-handed starter Trey Beard (3-1) suffered his first loss of the season. In 4.2 innings, he allowed four runs on eight hits with six strikeouts and two walks.

The Seminoles fell in the series finale 17-3 in seven innings on a hot and sunny Saturday afternoon. FSU hit solo home runs in each of the first two innings, but the Yellow Jackets tied the game in each of the bottom halves. Florida State regained a 3-1 lead in the fifth, but GT answered to take its first lead, which it would not give up.
