SERIES HISTORY VS. NOTRE DAME
Following a home win in February, Florida State is 14-4 all-time against North Florida, including 13-2 at home and 2-1 on the road. In a series that began in 2006, FSU won the first four, all at home, and seven of the first eight. In the team's second midweek contest of 2026, FSU beat North Florida 14-9 on February 25. The Seminoles benefited from a six-run second inning and added two in the fourth and three in the sixth and eighth. The Ospreys held a 1-0 lead in the first, but could not match FSU's offense in the in-state midweek matchup. Sophomore right fielder Noah Sheffield had two hits, a career-high four RBI and two runs, while freshman designated hitter Kelvyn Paulino Jr. got his first career start and had two hits and three RBI, both collegiate bests.

SCOUTING THE OSPREYS
North Florida is 23-16 on the season, 15-9 at home and 8-7 on the road. The Ospreys are in first place in the ASUN with a 14-4 mark, having won all six weekend series. That includes a 2-1 series at home vs. Stetson last weekend, with 3-1 and 2-1 victories before a 7-3 defeat on Sunday. One week ago, in the team's only midweek since March 31, UNF beat Florida A&M 11-2.
LAST TIME OUT: ACC HOME SWEEP
FSU completed a 4-0 home week with a sweep of Notre Dame from April 17-19. The Seminoles notched their second ACC sweep in six weeks of ACC play and have won all but one weekend series on the season. With the Saturday victory, the Seminoles are 30-17 all-time against Notre Dame and 19-7 at home. FSU has won five in a row and eight of the last nine, including six consecutive in Tallahassee.
Florida State shut out Notre Dame 11-0 in seven innings in Friday night's opener. The Seminoles benefited from two three-run home runs in a seven-run sixth inning and another strong start from Mendes. The Fighting Irish were held to just five hits in the series opener. FSU took a 2-0 lead in the first inning and made it 4-0 in the fourth on a two-run error. Stuetzer and Putnam both homered in the sixth inning to secure the run-rule victory. Meanwhile, Mendes pitched 6.0 shutout innings and struck out seven with two walks. He allowed three hits and threw 102 pitches while matching his career-high win total. Redshirt senior designated hitter Nathan Cmeyla had a game-high three hits and three RBI, both tying his season best, and his two-RBI double in the first inning proved to be the only runs Florida State would need.
FSU won the series with a 9-7 victory on Saturday afternoon. The Seminoles led 4-1 after one inning and added two in the second and another two in the fourth and one in the fifth to go ahead 9-2. The Fighting Irish responded with four in the sixth to get to within three, and added a run in the ninth, but FSU prevented ND from getting any closer. Stuetzer had two hits and a career-high-tying four RBI, for seven in two games vs. Notre Dame, and was one of three players with multiple hits on Saturday. Putnam homered for the second time in as many games. Williams stole a career-high-tying four bases, tied for fourth-most in a single game in team history to become the first player to swipe four or more bags in a game twice in a career. Abraham pitched the final 3.1 innings and got the save, his fifth of 2026. He allowed one unearned run on three hits with three strikeouts and three walks.
The Seminoles scored four runs in the seventh inning to come from behind and beat Notre Dame 6-4 on Sunday afternoon to complete the sweep. The rally came after the Fighting Irish held a pair of two-run leads during the contest. UND took a 1-0 lead in the first and made it 2-0 in the fourth, but FSU quickly tied the game at 2-2 in the bottom of the fourth inning on a two-run home run by redshirt sophomore right fielder Brody DeLamielleure. Notre Dame regained a 4-2 advantage in the top of the fifth, a lead that lasted until Florida State's four-run seventh that was highlighted by a two-RBI, go-ahead triple by Cmeyla. DeLamielleure, who came off the bench in the third inning, was one of four Seminoles with two hits and had a game-best and career-high-tying three RBI. Williams also had a pair of hits with an RBI and scored two runs, including the tying run in the seventh. All six of Florida State's runs, and eight of its 11 hits, came with two outs. Junior right-handed reliever Brodie Purcell earned the win after he pitched a perfect seventh inning ahead of the four-run bottom half. Junior righty Chris Knier earned the save and did not allow a run on one hit with two strikeouts and no walks in the final 2.0 innings.
