Starting pitchers for the series have not been determined for either team.

FSU is 30-14 on the season, 21-3 at home, 8-8 on the road, 1-3 at a neutral site and 7-7 against ranked opponents. The team is 12-9 in the ACC and tied for fourth place. The Seminoles continue a five-game homestand after a 9-1 win over South Florida on Wednesday afternoon. Through seven weekends of conference play, Florida State has five series wins with two sweeps having played four top-12 nationally-ranked opponents.

As a team, FSU is hitting .276 with 400 hits, 52 home runs, 91 doubles, nine triples, 215 walks, 321 runs scored and 281 RBI. The pitching staff has a 4.13 ERA with 170 earned runs allowed on 313 hits with 469 strikeouts and 171 walks in 370.1 innings.

Sophomore catcher Hunter Carns is hitting .314 while freshman right fielder John Stuetzer has 39 hits. Redshirt senior first baseman Eli Putnam has eight home runs and junior left fielder Chase Williams has 17 stolen bases in 20 attempts. On the mound, junior lefty Wes Mendes is 7-3 with a 2.43 ERA, having struck out 86 and allowed 17 earned runs on 43 hits in 63.0 innings. Junior right-hander John Abraham has made 15 appearances, all but one out of the bullpen, and has 50 strikeouts and a 0.93 ERA in 38.2 innings.

NATIONALLY RANKED SEMINOLES
Florida State is ranked nationally in the top-17 in each major poll, including at No. 14 by D1Baseball. FSU also is No. 12 in the Coaches Poll, No. 13 by NCBWA, No. 15 according to The Athletic, No. 16 in the Perfect Game top-25 and No. 17 in Baseball America's rankings.

SERIES HISTORY VS. PITT
FSU is 29-8 all-time against Pitt, 26-5 in Tallahassee and 3-3 in Pittsburgh. That mark includes a 10-8 record since the first meeting as ACC opponents in 2015. Beginning in 1983, Florida State won the first 24 games in the series, going 3-0 in 1983, 1984 and 1985 and 4-0 in 1986. Another 3-0 sweep in 2015 at Howser started the conference portion of the matchup, and the Seminoles made their first visit to Pittsburgh in 2016 with a 2-1 mark that included the first loss in the series. Under head coach Link Jarrett since 2023, FSU and Pitt each own home series wins, in Tallahassee in 2023 and in Pittsburgh in 2024.

Two years ago, from May 10-12 at Pitt, Florida State lost the first two games, 1-0 and 9-7, before a 15-4, eight-inning win in the finale. Current Seminoles John Abraham and Cal Fisher played in the series. Fisher had a hit and a run scored in the middle contest and a run scored in the finale. Abraham pitched 1.1 innings and allowed two runs on two hits in the second of the three games.

SCOUTING THE PANTHERS
Pitt is 28-15 on the season, 14-8 at home, 10-6 on the road and 4-1 at a neutral site. The Panthers are tied for seventh in the ACC with a 10-11 record after a home sweep of No. 10 Virginia. That marked four consecutive victories for Pittsburgh, all against top-12 teams that began with a 23-1, seven-inning win at No. 12 West Virginia on April 21. Pitt's four-game win streak was snapped with a 13-5 loss to Kent State on Wednesday night, a day before the Panthers traveled to Tallahassee.

Pittsburgh is coached by Mike Bell, who played at FSU from 1994-95 and was an assistant coach from 2012-18. He helped lead Florida State to four College World Series appearances, both years as a player and in 2012 and 2017 as an assistant. Bell was selected in the 20th round of the 1995 MLB Draft by the Montreal Expos.

LAST TIME OUT: HOMESTAND BEGINS WITH IN-STATE WIN
Florida State opened a five-game homestand with a 9-1 win over South Florida on Wednesday afternoon. The Seminoles jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first inning and never looked back, as junior left-handed starter Cooper Whited and five relievers held the Bulls to one run on six hits. FSU added two runs in the fifth and another two in the seventh. The seventh-inning tally began with a leadoff home run by redshirt sophomore right fielder Brody DeLamielleure. With the win, Florida State improves to 77-16 all-time against the Bulls and 49-5 at home. The Seminoles have won seven in a row and 22 of the last 23 games in the in-state series.

DeLamielleure had a game-high three hits, three RBI and two runs scored to lead the Florida State offense that scored nine runs on eight hits. His home run was his fifth of the season, and his three hits and three RBI both tied career highs. DeLamielleure extended his hit streak to seven consecutive games, with multiple hits in three of the last four games and multiple RBI in two of the last three contests. Whited improved to 3-2 on the year and held USF to one run on three hits with four strikeouts and a walk in 4.0 innings.
