On Friday, FSU junior lefty Trey Beard (5-1, 5.12 ERA) will toe the rubber against UM sophomore right-hander Lazaro Collera (3-2, 4.68 ERA). FSU is 36-15 on the season, 25-3 at home, 10-9 on the road, 1-3 at a neutral site and 7-7 against ranked opponents. The team is 17-10 in the ACC and tied for third place. The Seminoles have won seven of the last eight following a series win at Clemson from May 8-10. Through nine weekends of conference play and with one remaining, Florida State has seven series wins for the first time since 2015, with three sweeps. Four of the eight series have come against top-12 nationally-ranked opponents, three of them on the road.

As a team, FSU is hitting .282 with 478 hits, 64 home runs, 102 doubles, 10 triples, 238 walks, 367 runs scored and 324 RBI. The pitching staff has a 3.98 ERA with 191 earned runs allowed on 357 hits with 535 strikeouts and 196 walks in 432.1 innings.

SERIES HISTORY VS. MIAMI
In the most-played series in program history that began in 1951, Florida State is 164-137-4 all-time against Miami, including 84-59-1 at home, 73-73-3 on the road and 7-5 at a neutral site. FSU is 37-28 since UM joined the ACC in 2005 and 7-7 all-time in the NCAA Tournament, 2-3 in the College World Series. The Seminoles won four in a row after losing the inaugural game in 1951, and won 12 in a row from 1966-71, the longest streak for either team. The rivals have met multiple times every year since that first matchup in 1951 except for no games in 1953, 1954, 1959, 1964 and 2020. Most years from 1970 until Miami became an ACC member in 2005 featured series in both Tallahassee and Miami.

More recently, FSU won two-of-three in South Florida in 2025 and swept the three-game series at Howser in 2024. The Seminoles have won five of the last six overall, five in a row at home and eight of the last 10 in Tallahassee.

The 2025 series win began with a 14-1 victory in seven innings on March 20. Carns was one of two players to hit two home runs. FSU's late rally came up short in a 9-6 loss the following night. The Seminoles scored four runs on seven hits in the final two innings and sent the tying run to the plate in the ninth with one out, but it was not enough. The late scores came after UM led 4-2 after three innings and 8-2 after five. In the March 22 finale, a seven-run fourth inning and 5.0 shutout innings by relievers helped Florida State to a series-clinching, 10-6 victory. A seven-run fourth inning turned a 3-2 deficit into a 9-3 lead, and the bullpen gave up just two hits with eight strikeouts in the final 5.0 innings to secure the win.

SCOUTING THE HURRICANES
Miami is 35-15 overall, 25-9 at home and 10-6 on the road. The Hurricanes are 15-12 in the ACC and in fifth place, just behind FSU. UM is coming off a home series win against Louisville, with 13-8 and 10-8 wins surrounding a 16-9, 11-inning defeat. Miami has won six of its last seven series.

In the national rankings, the Hurricanes are receiving votes in the NCBWA rankings, the Coaches Poll and Perfect Game's top-25.

LAST TIME OUT: RIVALRY ROAD SERIES WIN
FSU won two-of-three at rival Clemson from May 8-10 in the penultimate weekend of the regular season at Doug Kingsmore Stadium. Redshirt sophomore right fielder Brody DeLamielleure extended his hit streak to 14 consecutive games with seven hits, five RBI and two home runs to lead an offense that hit. CU had won three in a row against top-25 opponents in the last week before Friday's FSU win. The series victory against the Tigers is the Seminoles' first at Clemson since 2014. Florida State improves to 87-79-1 all-time in the series and 26-41 on the road.

Florida State topped Clemson 8-4 in Friday night's series opener behind a pair of home runs, both which came a half inning after the Tigers scored a single run. With FSU leading 4-0, Clemson scored one in the bottom of the third, only for Stuetzer to answer with a two-run home run in the top of the fourth. CU scored in the bottom of the inning, again being held to just one run, but Florida State also responded via a leadoff home run by DeLamielleure in the next half inning to extend the lead back to five at 7-2. In an 8-4 game, Clemson loaded the bases in the bottom of the ninth to send the tying run to the plate with two outs, but sophomore left-handed reliever Payton Manca got a flyout to end the game. In 6.0 innings, Mendes allowed three runs on five hits with 10 strikeouts and two walks. He did not allow more than one run in any inning to limit the damage. DeLamielleure was one of four players with two hits and had a game-high three RBI along with two runs scored. Stuetzer had two RBI, one of three players to drive in multiple runs.

The series was evened with a 4-3 loss on Saturday night as FSU's six-game win streak was snapped. Dowd and DeLamielleure both homered and DeLamielleure had two hits, an RBI and two runs scored. Junior left-handed starter Trey Beard got the no-decision and allowed three runs on five hits with four strikeouts and a walk in 5.1 innings. Junior right-hander Chris Knier followed Beard out of the bullpen and did not allow a baserunner in 1.2 innings with two strikeouts. It was Knier's second appearance in the series.

The Seminoles won the series with a 6-3 victory on Sunday afternoon. Florida State scored three in the second inning and led 4-0 after four. Clemson scored once in the fifth, seventh and eighth, but was held to single runs in each inning, and after the runs in both the fifth and seventh, FSU answered the Tigers' score with a run of its own the next half inning. Three players had three hits for the Garnet and Gold. At the top of the lineup, Stuetzer's three hits were complimented by two RBI and a run scored. Redshirt senior catcher Nathan Cmeyla had three hits with a home run, and DeLamielleure had three hits with an RBI. Senior second baseman Carter McCulley also homered.  Junior right-handed starter Bryson Moore earned the win and allowed one run on five hits with four strikeouts and a walk in 6.0 innings. Junior righty Brodie Purcell pitched the final 1.1 innings to pick up the save. He didn't allow a hit with three strikeouts and one walk.
