REDSHIRT JUNIOR (2018):

Returned from Tommy John surgery to appear in 14 games as a pitcher and six as a hitter…struck out 27 batters over 20.1 innings, including 22 in his first 8.2 innings…finished with a 3.54 ERA and 13 walks allowed…struck out four batters in the sixth inning against Kansas (3/6)…earned his only save of the year in a three-inning outing at Fenway Park against Boston College (4/21)…at the plate, he had three hits, including a triple at Fenway Park and a home run against Stetson (4/18) in his second collegiate at-bat and first since 2015…had seven RBI, all against Stetson and Boston College…Johnson started three games as the designated hitter…drew two walks against Mount St. Mary’s (5/13)…taken in the 30th Round of the 2018 MLB Draft, signing with the Toronto Blue Jays.

JUNIOR (2017):

SOPHOMORE (2016):

Started only one game in his sophomore season, but appeared in 12 while working a 3.50 ERA…struck out 20 batters and walked nine in just 18 innings pitched…part of the trio that accomplished a combined no-hitter against Toledo on March 9 for only the ninth no-hitter in Florida State history while working 2.0 hitless innings…an injury ended his season early with his last appearance taking place in mid-April.

FRESHMAN (2015):

Made 14 appearances including eight starts in his first collegiate season…opened the season in the Seminole weekend rotation where he made eight consecutive starts…finished the season with a 3-2 record…recorded two of those wins in ACC play posting victories against Boston College (March 8) and at Virginia (March 7)…had his best performance of the season against the national champion Cavaliers (March 22) holding UVa to just one run on five hits as he walked two and struck out five in 7.0 innings of work inside Davenport Field…tied a career-high with six strikeouts three times – Oakland (March 15), UNC Wilmington (March 1) and at Miami (April 24)…struck out at least five batters in six appearances…worked 5.0 scoreless innings allowing just two hits in his collegiate debut against Oakland (Feb. 15)…played summer ball with the Falmouth Commodores of the Cape Cod League.

HIGH SCHOOL:

Graduated from J.W. Mitchell High School in Holiday, Fla…drafted in the 35th Round of the of the 2014 MLB Draft by the San Diego Padres…named a 2013 Perfect Game and Under Armour All-American, 2014 Preseason Louisville Slugger, MaxPreps, and Baseball America All-American…garnered First Team All-Conference all four years of high school…named 2013 Sunshine Athletic Conference Player of the Year and First Team All-Tampa Bay as a junior and senior…helped lead Mitchell to a district championship as a freshman, junior, and senior…hit over .400 each of last three years in high school, including .426 as a junior with 43 hits, 21 of which went for extra bases (16 doubles, three triples, and two home runs)…also starred on the mound at Mitchell, compiling a 2.01 ERA with over 118.1 innings pitched for the Mustangs…went 10-2 with a 1.68 ERA his junior year…also played basketball in high school his freshman and sophomore seasons…named a National AP Scholar and graduated third in his high school class.

PERSONAL:

Son of Dane and Gina Johnson…has one sister, Madison…father was a second-round pick by the Blue Jays, played in the majors for the White Sox, Blue Jays, and Athletics and is the current pitching coach for the Blue Jays…majoring in mechanical engineering…born on November 6, 1995.
