WHY I WEAR MY NUMBER
Jalen Crawford – I wear No. 15 at Florida State. This season will mark the first time wearing No. 15 during my playing career. My parents are both Florida State alumni with my mom’s Golden Girl line number being No.1 and my dad’s uniform number being No. 5 when he played as a Seminole. I put them together in honor of my parents.
Jalen Crawford is the 29th player in school history to wear the No. 15. Rick Benson, one of the greatest rebounders in school history, wore No. 15 (1952, 1954-55). Benson has the top rebounding game in school history with 32 against Florida Southern in 1955 and totaled 23 career double-doubles. Rebounds were not an official statistic until Benson's senior year, yet he totaled 451 rebounds and 17.3 rebounds per game average as a senior.

WHAT'S IN A NAME
My full name is Jalen Elijah Crawford. I was named after Jalen Rose of the University of Michigan and the Detroit Pistons. Jalen Rose was my father’s favorite player while he was in college. It was the first name his dad, Adrian mentioned to his now wife, Wendy, during their first-ever conversation at the ACC Tournament during his redshirt sophomore season in 1999. My middle name, Elijah, comes from the Bible. Elijah is considered to be one of the greatest prophets in history.

MY HOMETOWN
My hometown of Tallahassee, Florida, is one of the best southern college towns in the United States. We’re known for great food, arts, culture, and, of course, the Seminoles.
