Redshirt junior is back after missing all of 2016 due to injury…as a sophomore in 2015 recorded lifetime-best performances in both the shot put (indoors and outdoors) and discus…qualified for the NCAA East Preliminary outdoors in both events…owns the No. 3 outdoor and No. 6 indoor shot put marks in FSU history.
2017:
Indoor – Competed in five events including the ACC Championships and NCAA Championships…Top-5 finishes at Clemson Invitational, Larry Wieczorek Invitational, Tyson Invitational and ACC Championships in Shot Put…Recorded season high mark at ACC Championships with a mark of 19.14m, placing him 3rd on the FSU All-Time list…Placed 13th at NCAA Championship…Outdoor – Placed first in Shot Put (SP) at FSU Relays, Florida Relays, and Stanford Cardinal Classic…Recorded season high SP distance at Florida Relays converting 64' 7.75” placing him on FSU’s All-Time list in third…Placed third at ACC Championships and at NCAA Preliminary Round…Finished 12th at NCAA Championships.
2015:
Cracked the 18-meter mark four times in seven outdoor shot put events…unleashed lifetime-best mark of 18.93m (62-1.25) at Miami Hurricane Alumni Invitational for the win; the No. 3 outdoor mark in program history…opened outdoor season with then career-best marks in both the shot put (18.33m) and discus (53.47m/175-5) at FSU Relays, claiming discus title…competed in five indoor meets, claiming second team All-ACC honors with sixth-place shot put finish at conference championship…highlight came at Virginia Tech’s Doc Hale Invitational where his throw of 17.97m (58-11.50) was the No. 6 mark in program history.
2014:
Saw action in seven meets, competing in both the shot put and discus…placed seventh in the shot put at the ACC Outdoor Championships, contributing to the Seminoles’ team title…season-best shot put mark came in a third-place finish at the Seminole Twilight…also posted his top discus mark of the season at the Seminole Twilight (50.70m/166-4)…first competitive season as a Seminole produced a seventh-place scoring finish in the shot put at the ACC Indoor Championships, helping FSU to the team title…season-best indoor shot put mark of 16.72 meters (54-10.25) came at the Auburn Invitational…competed in six meets.
Personal:
A four-time Florida 3A champion after sweeping both the shot put and discus titles as a junior and senior for Gulf Breeze High School…also starred in football as an offensive tackle, earning a handful of major college scholarship offers, opting instead to concentrate on the throws…ranked among the national leaders in both the shot put and discus in high school, where he posted PRs of 60-9 (shot) and 193-0 (discus)…father Mike was an All-Metro Conference scorer in the discus for the Seminoles…born March 4, 1995.
