BIO:
Joins program as a graduate transfer from the University of Maryland…brings a wealth of experience to the table as a middle distance runner on the track…transitioning to longer distances with designs on cracking the Seminoles’ cross country lineup.
2017-18
Cross Country: Lined up for three meets in his first semester with the Noles…posted an 8k personal-best 26:36.8 to finish 25th at the FSU Invitational. Indoor: Established new personal-bests in the 3000 (8:36.72, Larry Wieczorek Invitational) and the mile (4:16.47, Hemery Valentine Invitational)…competed in three meets. Outdoors: Competed in five meets in the spring…established a new personal-best in the 5000 (15:04.05) at the FSU Invitational…closed out his season by running 3:56.14 in the 1500 at the Seminole Invitational.
Before FSU:
New Jersey native competed at Maryland during the 2014-15 and 2015-16 seasons on the track…was member of Terps’ Penn Relays College Division DMR champions in 2015, along with former Seminole All-American Jakub Zivec who was a grad student…has a pair of top-20 1500 finishes at the Big Ten Championships…raced at distances ranging from the 800 to 5000…outstanding in the classroom and recognized as a Maryland Scholar-Athlete three time…earned All-Academic Big Ten honors last season.
Personal:
Graduated from Maryland in the spring of 2017 with his degree in kinesiology…is pursuing his master’s in exercise physiology at FSU…competed in track & field for four years and cross country for three at St. Joseph High School…the son of John and Mary Hogarty…born Dec. 12, 1994.
