A future as bright as any Seminole golfer who began her Florida State career during the spring of 2025…committed to Florida State for the class of 2025 and began her career a semester early in February with an appearance in the Moon Invitational…played in six events (the Moon Invitational, the Briar’s Creek Invitational, the Old Barnwell Match Play Championship, the Florida State Match Up and the Brickyard Collegiate) during her freshman season...was a traveling member of the Seminoles’ roster for the ACC Championship, the NCAA Lexington Regional Championship and the NCAA Championship Finals…was a counting score member of Florida State’s starting lineup in the third round of the NCAA Lexington Regional Championship and helped the Seminoles win the third regional championship in program history…arrived at Florida State to begin the spring semester of 2025 after graduating from Florida Virtual High School in three years…upon her high school graduation, Seminole head coach Amy Bond suggested the she enroll in the spring of 2025 to become acclimated to the university and the golf program…she was inserted into the Seminoles’ lineup for the team’s championship at the Moon Invitational (Feb. 16-18, 2025)…finished in a tie for 25th place in the Moon with three counting scores including a 1 under par 71 in her first career collegiate round…played one season of middle school golf before concentrating on her junior golf career…earned five junior golf victories...earned one win on the 2024 Florida Junior Tour and advanced to the Round of 16 at the 94th Women’s Amateur championship in 2023…a member along with her sister, Marley, of Team Florida, an awards program that identifies the top 40 junior golfer in the state of Florida…has played on the National stage at several USGA events…qualified for the U.S. Girls’ Junior in 2022 and 2023 and the 2023 U.S. Women’s Four-Ball Championship…co-medalist in the 2022 U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship with a score of 64…played in the 2024 U.S. Women’s Amateur Stroke Play Championship…earned her way into the 2023 U.S. Junior Golf Championship…named the FSU Academic President’s List with a perfect 4.0 Grade Point Average during the spring of 2025..averages 76.36 strokes in five events and 11 stroke play rounds entering her sophomore season at Florida State.

Advanced to the first round of match play at the 96th Florida Women's Amateur at the Indian Creek Country Club in Indian Creek Village (June 12-15)...in a tie for 18th place with a 2 over par score of 74 after the first round of play...her first round score included three birdies...finished in a tie for 24th place in stroke play with scores of 74-75 for a 36 hole total of 149...fell 4&3 to Madison Moman in the match play round of 32 on June 13...carded a 1 under par 71 in qualifying for the U.S. Girl's Junior Championship at the Heritage Oaks Golf and Country Club in Plantation, Fla...in a tie for 10th place with a first round score of 1 over par 73 at the FSGA Women's Amateur Stroke Play championship...in a tie for 26th place with scores of 73-76 and a two-round total of 149 at the FSGA Women’s Amateur Stoke Play Championship...finished in a tie for 10th place at the FSGA Women’s Amateur Stoke Play Championship...carded a final round score of 66 and finished with scores of 73-76-66 for a 54-hole total of 1 under par 215...played in the Florida Women’s Open at the PGA National Resort & Spa in Palm Beach Gardens (August 1-3)…carded scores of 84-80 in her two rounds played...

Born October 3, 2006…Layla is the daughter of Erin and Freddy Pedrique…while the initial idea was to take a redshirt season in the spring of 2025, once Pedrique was approached with the idea of playing quickly, she jumped at the chance…made the most of her first spring semester at Florida State as she quickly became a mentee of Seminole All-American Lottie Woad and adapted many of the World’s No. 1 player and her work ethic.
