Florida State’s No. 1 cross country performer for the second consecutive season, capped by her first NCAA Championships appearance this pas fall…will make her track & field debut after missing both the indoor and outdoor seasons due to injury…a two-time All-ACC and All-South Region honoree in cross country.
2016 Cross Country:
Spaniard was FSU’s No. 1 runner in all seven meets during the fall, demonstrating significant improvement from her freshman season…opened year with a win at Covered Bridge Open to earn ACC Performer of the Week honors…was runner-up at adidas XC Challenge in 16:53., 5k)…placed 17th at loaded Notre Dame Invitational (16:45.3)…raced with the elite at the Wisconsin Invitational, placing 23rd (20:39.6, 6k)…secured All-ACC honors with seventh place finish at conference championship (20:09.6) in a PB 6k time…punched her ticket to her first NCAA Championships by placing third at NCAA South Region (20:13.1) on her home course…was 73rd at cross country nationals…served as team co-captain with Madison Harris.
2015-16
Cross Country: Closed her first season with a flurry as the team’s No. 1 runner in each of the final three meets…placed 11th at NCAA South Region Championship, narrowly missing an individual at-large NCAA Championships spot for the fourth-place Noles…finished ninth on her home course at the ACC Championships; the fifth freshman behind four seniors…claimed top spot for Noles (62nd) at the Adidas Wisconsin Invitational.
Before FSU:
Qualified for Spain’s 2015 World Cross Country Championships team…won Spain’s Junior National Cross Country title in 2014; second in 2015…represented Spain and finished 40th at the 2014 European Junior Cross Country Championships…placed third in 5000 at 2015 European Junior Championships in personal-best 16:23.81…is her home country’s 2015 Junior National Outdoor Champion in the 5000 and 3000…has personal-bests of 4:25.99 (1500) and 9:31.6 (3000).
Personal:
Outstanding student who plans to major in psychology at Florida State…earn All-ACC Academic and USTFCCCA All-Academic cross country honors as freshman at FSU…graduate of IES do Castro where her academic succes earned her International Baccalaureate honors…born December 4, 1996.
