SERIES HISTORY VS. USF
Florida State is 74-16 all-time against USF in a series that began in 1969 in Tallahassee. The Seminoles are 46-5 at home, 27-11 on the road and 1-0 at a neutral site.

In Tampa, FSU posted 7-0 and 8-0 wins on back-to-back days in 1970, the first two games at USF. Florida State won 20 in a row in the series from 1974-1980. From 1978-89, with the exception of no games in 1982, the two teams played 2-3 times every year in both Tallahassee and Tampa. More recently, the Seminoles took 15 in a row from 1989-2016. The last win in the streak was the most recent matchup at USF, a 12-4 victory for the Garnet and Gold on March 8, 2016.

FSU has won the last four games, all at Dick Howser Stadium, including a 7-6, 13-inning win on March 1, 2023, and a 12-4 victory on February 27, 2024. Six current players appeared in last year's game, including now-junior catcher Jaxson West, who had one hit, three RBI and two runs scored. On March 1, 2023, a three-run 13th inning helped the Seminoles walk off the Bulls. Arnold got the start, and he was relieved after 3.0 no-hit innings by now-redshirt senior righty David Barrett.

SCOUTING THE BULLS
Following a 26-29 year in 2024, USF is 2-1 in 2025 after a home series win over Iowa. The Bulls notched a 5-4 win on Opening Day before suffering an 8-2 defeat the following day. They won the series with a 9-5 win on Sunday.

Ryan Pruitt is leading the team with a .556 average five hits, five RBI and two home runs. Two pitchers are 1-0, including Landen Yorek, who has a 0.00 ERA with two strikeouts in 2.1 innings.

UP NEXT: BACK AT HOWSER
The Seminoles return home for a three-game series against Penn from February 21-23 at Dick Howser Stadium. First pitch on Friday, February 21, is at 5 p.m. ET, followed by a 2 p.m. start on Saturday. The series finale on Sunday will now begin at 1 p.m. Fans can get tickets for all three games at Seminoles.com/Tickets or by calling the FSU ticket office at 850-644-1830.

LAST TIME OUT: SEASON-OPENING SWEEP
Florida State began the 2025 season with a sweep of James Madison at Dick Howser Stadium from February 14-16. Two of the three games were sellouts, and the Seminoles out-scored the Dukes 25-2 and out-hit them 32-10. FSU improved to 8-0 in opening series under third-year head coach Link Jarrett.

A 6-0 win began the campaign, as Arnold allowed just one hit in 6.0 shutout innings with eight strikeouts and Faurot hit a three-run home run in the third inning. On Saturday, four home runs helped FSU to a 9-2 triumph. Faurot homered again along with Harrelson, junior center fielder Max Williams and junior shortstop Alex Lodise. Redshirt junior lefty Joey Volini got the win and allowed one unearned run in 4.2 innings. Sunday was a 10-0 victory in eight innings, as nine players had at least one hit and six notched two or more. FSU stole eight bases, the most since at least 2016, and sophomore lefty Wes Mendes held JMU to two hits with a career-best eight strikeouts in 5.0 innings.
