SENIOR (2017):

Appeared in 15 games as a pinch hitter and backup catcher, hitting 4-for-15 (.267) with a double, two walks and an RBI…had hit in each of his last two at-bats as a Seminole, singles against Jacksonville and Sam Houston State in the NCAA Super Regional…finished his Seminole career with a .205 batting average in 39 at-bats, three doubles and seven RBI.

JUNIOR (2016):

Appeared in 26 games of the 2016 season…ended the year with 24 at-bats, an on-base percentage of .250, six RBI, and two doubles…his big hit of the season came on March 2 against Villanova with a two-RBI single to left that helped the Seminoles reach extra innings and ultimately win in walk-off fashion…played summer ball for the Santa Barbara Foresters in the California League, where he tallied 10 hits in 47 at-bats and garnered four RBI in 18 games.

 

BEFORE FSU:

Played for Walters State Community College from 2013-15…posted a .320 batting average along with 37 runs, 26 RBI, six home runs and five stolen bases in 2015…caught 15 runners attempting to steal…recorded a .992 fielding percentage committing with just three errors in 375 chances…threw out 34.1 percent of would-be base stealers on the year…led Walters State to a third place finish at the NJCAA World Series in 2015.

HIGH SCHOOL:

Graduated from North Buncombe High School in Asheville, N.C.…ended his career with a .423 batting average, .455 on-base percentage, 107 hits, 93 RBI, 29 doubles, 26 walks and seven home runs…earned All-Mountain Athletic Conference honors on three occasions and was named All-Western North Carolina twice…named as the team Most Valuable Player on two occasions.

PERSONAL:

Son of Peggy and George Bussey…has two siblings, Boyce and Amanda…majoring in editing, writing and media…born on August 4, 1993.
