ON MONFILS
A member of Florida State’s 2024 NCAA Championships team…helped the Seminoles advance to the second round in the NCAA Championships and semifinals of ACC Championships…totaled nine wins in her freshman spring season. 


SPRING 2025
Began the spring with a singles victory over USF...After two straight-set singles victories over Alabama State, she went on to win six of her next seven singles matches...Earned her first spring doubles victory of the year with a 6-1 victory over Florida with partner Kristyna Lavickova, leading to a seven-match doubles winning streak with four different partners...Earned her first conference win with a doubles victory at Boston College with partner Tina Li...Helped to clinch the doubles point in a 4-3 victory over No. 50 Miami...With partner Laura Putz, the duo defeated consecutive doubles pairs from No. 28 Stanford and No. 12 NC State.


FALL 2024
Began her fall 2024 season paired with Tina Li, securing an 8-5 win over Juliette Nask and Franziska Heinemann of Georgia State in the doubles round of 32 at the ITA Southeast Regional Championships...Monfils also defeated Maria Paula Vargas of Miami 2-6, 6-4, 1-0 (7) in the consolation singles round of 32...Earned three straight-sets wins at the UNF Invitational winning 6-1, 6-1 over Nicole Alfaro of UNF, 6-3, 6-4 over Josefine Falster of USF, and 6-4, 6-1 over Lucia Aranda of UNC Charlotte the Flight B finals to defend her title from 2023 while also winning two doubles matches with partner Mary Boyce Deatherage.


SPRING 2024

Finished the spring season with nine total wins (five in doubles and four in singles)...won 4-6, 6-1, 6-4 over Kate Sharabura at No. 6 singles to help FSU defeat No. 24 Georgia Tech 6-1...defeated the No. 53 Esther Adeshina and Alana Wolfberg of Tennessee 7-5 with Ellie Schoppe at No. 2 doubles...earned a 6-2 win over Adela Wasserbauerova and Sydney Clarke of UAB with Ellie Schoppe at No. 2 doubles...won 7-5 over Andreea Stanescu and Retortillo Soiras of Georgia State with Ellie Schopp eat No. 1 doubles...defeated Lea Falentin and Emi Cosatto of Mercer 6-2 with Ellie Schoppe at No. 2 doubles... earned a 6-1 win over Ibifuro Clement and Germany Davis of Louisville with Anna Arkadianou at No. 3 doubles...won 7-5, 7-6 over Tea Zivic of Mercer at No. 6 singles...defeated Constance Levivier 6-4, 6-2 of Syracuse at No. 6 singles... and earned a 4-6, 6-3, 1-0(8) win over Seren Agar of Boston College. 


2023-2024 NATIONAL DOUBLES RANKINGS

Ranked as high as No. 39 nationally in doubles in the Spring with Ellie Schoppe ..was ranked in doubles for seven consecutive weeks with Ellie Schoppe No. 48 (Nov 15th), No. 46 (Feb 7), No. 39 (Feb 20), No. 42 (Mar 5), No. 70 (Mar 19), No. 58 (Apr 2), and No. 90 (Apr 9)....ranked No. 48 on November 15th.
 

FALL 2023

Earned 12 total victories in the 2023 Fall season (four in singles and eight in doubles)...won the Women’s Open doubles with Laura Putz at the Bedford Cup in Tampa...defeated Grace Schumacher and Ireland Simme of USF (6-2) in the quarterfinals, (6-4) over Carla Galmiche and Amber McGinnis of FAU in the semifinals, and (6-4) in the finals over Anslee Long and Annabelle Davis of UNF to secure the Bedford Cup...won the Flight D singles bracket at the UNF Invite with a (7-6 (8), 6-0 win over Emma Wilkins of UNC Charlotte, (6-2, 6-3) win over Kelly Gonzalez of USF, and (6-2, 6-1) win over Maja Pietrowicz of Nebraska....won the Flight 2 doubles bracket with Ellie Schoppe with a (6-1) win over Shona Nakano and Emma Wilkins of UNC Charlotte, (6-3) win over Melisa Senli and Marta Font of USF, and (6-3) win over Elisabeth Dunac and Mari Lene Hovda of Indiana....defeated Petja Drame and Katerina Mandelikova of FIU (8-6) with Ellie Schoppe.. won (8-1) over the No. 1 seeded Guillermina Grant and Mai Niurndorn of Georgia in the Open Doubles round of 16 at the ITA Southeast Regional Championships... won (6-3, 6-2) over Sara Rakim of FAMU at the Bedford Cup.
 

BEFORE FLORIDA STATE

Graduated from IMG Academy in 2023….was home-schooled until her junior year….won the J3 Junior singles tournament in Mexico… won the J3 doubles tournament at Delray Beach… was a finalist in the J1 tournament in Merida…won IMG Academy Master in 2022. 
 
 
PERSONAL
Born January 25, 2005…Maelie is the daughter of Dominique and Rufin Monfils…has two brothers, Gael and Daryl, a sister, Roddie…began tennis when she was three…grew up practicing in Guadeloupe and spent three years practicing at the Federation in France..enjoys hanging out with friends, adventuring, and going to fancy restaurants… major is Business Management… future goal is to get into the WTA Circuit… her dream job is to be a luxury event manager.
