BIO
Graduate transfer at FSU made her second NCAA Championship appearance in her second event this year…placed 18th in the discus after qualifying fourth from NCAA East with a monster PB…qualified for NCAA Indoor Championships in the weight throw in her first season with Noles…ranks No. 2 all-time at FSU outdoors in the discus and indoors in the weight throw.
2016
Outdoor: Advanced as the No. 4 qualifier from NCAA East in discus following a four-meter PB of 55.65m (182-7)…did not score at ACC Outdoor Championships but narrowly missed shot put final following PB (14.14m/46-4.75)…previous career-best of 51.44m (168-9) came at Penn Relays, where she won the college section…cracked 50-meter barrier (51.22m/168-0) for first time at Tom Jones Memorial. Indoor: Placed 16th infirst NCAA Indoor Championship appearance in weight throw for second-team All-American honors…brreakout first season at FSU highlighted by PB of 20.96m (68-9.25) at ACC Indoor Championships; one of four marks over 20 meters…came into that meet with a lifetime-best of 19.83m set at Virginia Tech Challenge…entered the year with a previous best of 17.45m, set during the 2014 season at Florida A&M…eclipsed that standard in all six meets.
Before FSU
Starred at Florida A&M, claiming the 2014 MEAC Championship in the weight throw as well as the conference discus titles in 2013 and 2014…holds the Rattlers’ school record in the weight throw (17.45)…nine-time scoring contributor at the MEAC Championships (indoors and outdoors) between the weight throw, shot put and discus…two-time qualifier for the NCAA East Preliminary meet in the discus.
Personal:
Pursuing master’s degree in public administration from Florida State…graduated from Florida A&M with a degree in criminology…outstanding student-athlete at Fort Lauderdale High School, where she was a member of the National Honor Society…a four-year member of the track team, she won the state discus title in 2010 and was runner-up in 2009 and 2011…three-year member of the volleyball and basketball teams, also serving as their captain…family hails from Jamaica…born March 8, 1993.
