No. 6 FSU Returns Home to Host Miami

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The No. 6 Florida State soccer team hosts in-state rival Miami on Friday, October 3, at 7 p.m. ET, at the Seminole Soccer Complex.
General admission single-game seating is free and available on a first-come, first-served basis for each regular-season home game in 2025 for all fans without reserved midfield season tickets. It is Gold Night, and there will be an FSU Soccer scarf giveaway to the first 1,000 fans courtesy of Truist.

Back home for the first time in nearly a month and returning to competition following 11 days off, Florida State is 7-0-2 on the season. The team is in second place in the ACC with 10 points and a 3-0-1 record after a 1-1 draw at NC State on September 21 to cap a three-game roadtrip. The Seminoles are 4-0-0 at home and 3-0-2 on the road. FSU has shut out its opponent in seven of nine games, with multi-goal victories in six of the seven wins. Concluding a four-game roadtrip, Miami is 0-3-1 in ACC play, with all three defeats to teams currently ranked in the top-25 nationally.
Florida State has scored 28 goals with 30 assists on 165 shots and 65 shots on goal. In nine games, the team has allowed two goals on 48 shots, 16 on target, with 14 saves, a 0.23 goals-against average and a .875 save percentage.
Sophomore forward Wrianna Hudson leads the team with eight goals, 16 points, 26 shots and 16 shots on goal. Junior forward Jordynn Dudley has a team-high six assists and is second with 12 points, with a point in seven consecutive games, and she also is tied for second with three goals. In goal, redshirt sophomore Addie Todd has 11 saves in her six appearances for a .917 save percentage and a 0.19 goals-against average.
In the national rankings, FSU is No. 2 in the country in goals-against average (.225), No. 4 in assists per game (3.33) and shutout percentage (.778), No. 5 in goal differential (+26), No. 6 in goals per game (3.11) and points per game (9.56) and No. 14 in save percentage (.875) and shots per game (18.33).
Individually, Todd leads the country in goals-against average (0.188) and is No. 4 in save percentage (.917). Hudson is seventh in goals per game (0.89) and 23rd in points per game (1.78) while Dudley is 14th in assists per game (0.67).
In the polls, Florida State is No. 6 for a second consecutive week in the latest United Soccer Coaches top-25. The Seminoles also are sixth in this week's Top Drawer Soccer poll.
Several streaks were extended with last Sunday's draw, as FSU's school-record streak of games with a goal scored reached 64 consecutive games. Florida State's unbeaten streak in regulation or overtime is now at 19 consecutive games, fourth-best in program history, and the ACC unbeaten streak was stretched to nine games in a row, No. 7 all-time. The team's consecutive shutout minutes reached 594:49 before allowing the goal, a total that ranks No. 4 in the record books and the best since a 683-minute string from 2014-15. The draw saw the Seminoles' ACC win streak snapped at eight consecutive games, tied for No. 3 all-time, and their consecutive shutout streak ended at four games in the ACC and five games overall, tied for No. 3 and No. 4 in program history, respectively.
SERIES HISTORY VS. MIAMI
Florida State is 20-4-0 all-time against Miami, with an 11-1-0 mark at home and a 9-3-0 record on the road. FSU is 16-2-0 in ACC play since the Hurricanes joined the ACC in 2004. The series began with back-to-back defeats, first 4-2 in Coral Gables in 1998 and then 3-0 at home in 1999, and the Seminoles have won 20 of the next 22, including 12 in a row from 2001-11. The two teams have met every year since 1998 with the exception of 2015, 2017 and 2020. Florida State has won five in a row, and eight of the last nine, with a 19-2 scoring margin since the streak started with a 4-0 triumph in 2013.
A year ago, on October 31, 2024, Florida State posted a 1-0 win at Miami to conclude the regular season. Hudson scored the winning goal in the 42nd minute. FSU out-shot UM 16-3, and the visitors held a 6-0 advantage in shots on goal. In 2023 in Tallahassee, Dudley scored twice, in the 60th and 87th minutes, for a 2-0 Florida State win as the home side posted 22 shots, 11 on goal, and did not allow a shot.
SCOUTING THE HURRICANES
Miami is 6-4-2 on the season and 0-3-1 in the ACC with one point to sit in a tie for 15th place. The Hurricanes are 4-1-1 at home, 2-3-1 on the road and started the year with a 5-1-1 record. Last week, UM posted a 2-0 loss at RV Louisville on September 25 before a goalless draw at SMU on September 28. Against top-25 opponents, Miami is 0-2, with a 3-1 loss at No. 17 Wake Forest and a 1-0 home defeat to No. 2 Duke in back-to-back games in mid-September. Friday's contest in Tallahassee caps a four game roadtrip.
The Hurricanes have scored 16 goals on 149 shots, 58 on goal, with seven assists. Miami has conceded 11 goals and made 42 saves for a .776 save percentage and a 0.92 goals-against average. Ciara Alarcon has a team-best four assists and 10 points and shares the team lead of three goals with Brie Severns. In goal, Emily Bredek has started 11 of 12 games and has made 20 saves with a .769 save percentage and a 1.09 goals-against average in 495 minutes.
LAST TIME OUT: DRAW CONCLUDES ROADTRIP
A goal with 35 seconds remaining in the match helped Florida State to a 1-1 draw at NC State on September 21. On a hot and sun-filled afternoon, Hudson scored the equalizer in the 90th minute to help the Seminoles remain unbeaten on the season and conclude a stretch of three games in eight days, all on the road. The draw came after the Wolfpack took a 1-0 lead in the 81st minute. It was just the second goal FSU had conceded and the first time the team trailed in 2025.
Dudley, who notched the game-tying assist, had a game-high five shots, while she and Hudson both had two shots on goal. Facing a compacted defensive unit, FSU out-shot NC State 21-5, and the visitors had a 4-2 advantage in shots on goal. Corner kicks were 5-2 in the Seminoles' favor. Nine yellow cards were shown in the game, five to NC State and four to Florida State.
Freshman goalkeeper Evan O'Steen, who played the first 45 minutes, stopped the only shot she faced. Fellow freshman Kate Ockene played the second half. NCSU's keeper made three saves.
